As a substitute for the TSOP1838 sensor, this one is very economic and functions great for industrial use. It is REACH and SGS approved.
VS1838 is a miniaturized receiver for infrared remote control systems. PIN diode and preamplifier are assembled on lead frame, the epoxy package is designed as IR filter. The demodulated output signal can directly be decoded by a microprocessor. The main benefit is the reliable function even in disturbed ambient and the protection against uncontrolled output pulses.
Since this sensor is made in China and its data sheet is in Chinese, we can use the data sheet by TSOP1838 for reference.
